![]() PMS. It's turned into this monster that we all have to tame and control and apologize for. Why? How did this happen? How did it come to be that so many women have PMS, and how did it come to be that women feel like they have to tone it down, medicate or act like they're broken? I'm so over it ladies, and you should be too. I'll tell you why. PMS was created when women stopped believing in the power of their femininity. They stopped trusting in the knowledge and power that they posses inside, deep in their womb. The feminine cycle has been oppressed, confused and distorted for a long time. Patriarchal culture created and imposed the notion that women are lesser, weaker and faulty because of their menstruation. This distortion has completely destroyed the way women think about themselves and act in the world. It is truly heartbreaking. The dark times are behind us, but many women still live in them. Wake up women!! It's time to snap out of this spell and get with the program-- you're the shit, so act like it! I love my pre-menstrual time. I call it my "Artist" phase. It's when most of my creative breakthroughs happen. I seem to burst through any blocks that are getting in the way of my flow. As a woman moves into the pre-menstrual phase, her hormones are decreasing and her sub-conscious mind is becoming more and more active. My dreams are always very telling of what is being worked out each cycle. I think the challenge most women are faced with is trying to carry on as if nothing about them is different, when it couldn't be more the case. This is what causes a large part of their frustration, agitation and irritation. When I allow myself to let go and relax into my subconscious, astral dream world, magic happens. My brain is shifting into other dimensions and allowing me to access healing, manifestation, creative problem solving and so much more than I normally could if I was trying to use only logical reasoning. I start to feel a sort of ecstatic state of wonder and intensity that could only be brought on by my downward journey into the underworld. I think a reason the underworld seems scary is because it is the void. It is nothingness. It is no ego. It is quiet. It is still. It is the opposite of most of our daily life and culture, so yes, it seems weird and scary. It's ok, you will make it out! You will survive this journey, if you let yourself go there. As the artist goes into her studio to work on a new project, she starts with a blank canvas, not knowing what will come forth. She starts somewhere, slowly or quickly, and listens deeply to the next step, the next move of her brush. She taps into her inner wisdom and it shows her the way. The beauty way. Home. If you would like more support with journeying into your underworld in order to support you moving forward in your life, please go here to sign up for a private session with me. I look forward to opening your flow!
